CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – KUTRRH OBSERVERSHIP PROGRAMME TO THE UNITED KINGDOM

Under a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Manchester and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) will be undertaking an Observership Programme for six (6) of our Medical Specialists in the United Kingdom from March 2022. The programme, which will be running on an annual rolling basis aims to give our doctors an international experience in line with the Hospital’s vision to become a World-Class Hospital. The programme targets the following categories of doctors:

  • One-year Cohort: Observership and Work Training

Three (3) young medical specialists who have graduated with their Master’s degrees in Medicine within the last two (2) years. These doctors will be placed under a six (6) months’ observership programme and thereafter get an opportunity to work on a full-time basis in the United Kingdom for a period of six (6) months before resuming their roles at KUTRRH.

  • Six (6) Months Cohort: Observership training

Three (3) medical specialists with more than four (4) years of post-graduate work experience who will participate in the observership programme for a period of six (6) months and come back to train their colleagues at KUTRRH.

Interested and eligible staff members are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity. Successful applicants shall meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Have a Masters degree in Medicine from a recognized institution;
  2. Must be a confirmed full-time staff member;
  3. Must hold a valid license as a Senior Registrar and above from KMPDC;
  4. Must be between 30 to 39 years of age for Cohort (1) above and between 40 to 50 years of age for Cohort (2) above;
  5. Must have demonstrated a strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards work;
  6. Must have a clean disciplinary record;
  7. Must hold a valid passport.

Please note that staff members who have completed or are already enrolled in a similar program and/or have previously benefitted from local or international training opportunities in the last two (2) years at the time of this advert, shall NOT be eligible to apply.
