In August, KUTRRH officially unveiled 20 new advanced dialysis machines. The new machines are an additional capacity to KUTRRH’s nephrology care. The additional capacity is a significant boost to Renal Care at KUTRRH from the current dialysis of 100 sessions per day to more than 200 sessions daily.

NICU Staff Celebrate World Neonatal Nurses Day 2023. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) observed the World Neonatal Nurses which falls on the 15th of August every year. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a unit that deals with medical concerns related to newborn babies. The NICU unit provides care for babies who are born prematurely, have a low birth weight or who are sick or at risk. NICU nurses combine treatment of the neonates with counselling of their mothers. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Team members often include neonatologists, neonatal nurses, nutritionists and allied professionals.
Kidney diseases can encompass a wide range of conditions including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), kidney stones, infections, and more. This situation is not different in our country, Kenya.Statistics from the Kenya Renal Association estimate that 4 million Kenyans are suffering from kidney disease and by the year 2030, this number will rise to 4.8 million.It is therefore of paramount importance that all efforts be put in place to mitigate renal challenges.Aware of its role in furthering Universal Health Care, KUTRRH on 25th August 2023 launched 20 dialysis machines which were purchased by the Government of Kenya
