Siemens and Africa Health Business to form strategic partnerships with KUTRRH

A team from multinational Siemens Healthineers and Africa Health Business visited KUTRRH. They were met by KUTRRH’s CEO Ahmed Dagane and the Acting Director of Clinical Services, Dr. Kerama Onyimbo.

At a meeting chaired by Dr. Onyimbo, the Siemens team outlined various areas of possible partnership with KUTRRH, including providing solutions for stroke, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. The advanced solutions are currently only available in Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa, which means KUTRRH will be providing the solutions across East and Central Africa.

Siemens Healthineers is, for instance, set to introduce in Kenya adaptive radiotherapy and artificial intelligence-guided tumor contouring equipment that will be game changers in cancer management. This equipment, introduced in KUTRRH, will reduce the turnaround time of cancer treatment. The company will also explore establishing a second CT-enabled cath lab and a state-of-the-art stroke management center at KUTRRH. They will also explore how the company can support KUTRRH in research and training.

Africa Health Business, for its part, promised to work towards positioning KUTRRH as a centre of excellence in health care in Africa.

The visiting team promised to present proposals for the partnerships discussed within six weeks from mid-September.
