KUTRRH a leading Cancer Care Centre of Excellence received a donation of an Ultrasound machine by
ASTRAZENECA on January, 26th 2024. The donation was received by the hospital’s CEO, Ahmed Dagane who was flanked by members of staff and representatives of the donors.
The introduction of this new machine is a significant milestone for the hospital as the numbers keep soaring. With the extra machine from AstraZeneca the Hospital shall be able to serve an additional 20 patients above the 40 to 50 who are attended to at KUTRRH daily. patients daily and this will greatly reduce the waiting period.
The machine which is worth Ksh.7million gives two dimensional images as opposed to other machines which give one dimension. According to Dr. John Omollo a consultant urologist at KUTRRH, “ with prostate cancer becoming a high burden disease in Kenya the new machine will enable adequate and efficient diagnosis for patients.”
