Kenyatta University Teaching, Research & Referral Hospital (KUTRRH) held a special ceremony on the 26th September, 2024 to receive five state-of the-art ultrasound machines. The event was attended by KUTRRH management, healthcare professionals, media and key stakeholders, who witnessed the unveiling of these advanced
machines, poised to revolutionize the way medical diagnoses are conducted at the hospital. Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting Director Clinical Services, Dr. Onyimbo Kerama highlighted the importance of investment in technology, noting that the machines were not just an addition to the facility but a testament to the dedication in providing the highest standard of care to patients by ensuring faster and more accurate diagnoses, leading to better health outcomes.
The Chairperson of KUTRRH’s Board of Directors, Prof. Olive Mugenda promised continued support of the hospital board. She reiterated that the acquisition was a critical installation in supplementing the existing eight machines, increase the diagnosis capacity and reduce the Turn-Around-Time. Prof. Olive Mugenda rejoiced in the small wins the hospital had achieved majorly in early detection and diagnosis of diseases Roles and Importance of Ultrasound Technology in Modern Healthcare.
