Dr. Caroline Ngugi on Building Kenya’s Premier Specialized Nursing Institute
Dr. Caroline Ngugi, Director of Training and Research and Acting Director of Partnerships at KUTRRH, shares the vision behind the Training Institute of Specialized Nursing (TISN). Established in 2021 to meet the growing demand for specialized nurses in Kenya and across Africa, TISN offers advanced programs in Critical Care, Oncology, Perioperative, and Nephrology.
Since inception, 139 nurses have graduated, and today we celebrate our largest class yet—77 graduates ready to transform healthcare. With blended learning, expert faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities, TISN empowers nurses to lead with skill, compassion, and innovation. Admissions open in March and July, with applications available online.
