Dr. Njom is a Licensed medical doctor with specialist degree in Ophthalmology and 19 years of experience providing top-notch medical services in various Kenyan hospitals. Outstanding interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing positive relationships with clients, other medical professionals and healthcare organizations. He also has a passion for teaching, leadership, governance and change management.
He is a respected leader, able to train and manage diverse teams to deliver peak performance and dedicated to providing quality patient care and improving medical knowledge and practice in other workers.
Dr. Njom is currently the Ag. CEO, KUTRRH. He has previously served as the Director for Clinical Services at the same institution. Previously, Dr. Njom was a Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Maseno University, Deputy Chief Administrator and Consultant Ophthalmologist/Head of Department at Coast Provincial General Hospital, Mombasa County, Sessional (Part time) Consultant at Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa, Medical Officer at the Rift Valley Provincial Hospital, Nakuru, and Medical Officer in-charge at Olenguruone Sub-District Hospital.
He was a recipient of the newly established national award and state commendation, the Presidential Order of Service, Mzalendo Award, for his contribution in efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Dr. Njom holds a Certificate in Leadership of High Performing Healthcare Organizations (LEHHO) from Strathmore Business School, Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) and Senior management course in health systems strengthening. He also holds a Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi.
