What better way to celebrate the Nurses Week than winding it up with a dance? The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) in collaboration with KUTRRH launched the Zumba-for-Nurses, midwives & other front-line workers’ session at the Infectious Disease Unit.KU Hospital nurses dancing zumba

This was in commemoration of the International Day of the nurses and International Midwives’ Day. The two days were celebrated on the 12th and 5th May respectively. Cheerful faces as these healthcare providers break a sweat betray the fact that this was more than a dance.nurses week KUTRRH nurses dancing zumba

Zumba caters for many aspects of wellbeing. Beyond the obvious physical aspect, it is also socially and mentally stimulating.

It was the perfect gift for the front-line healthcare providers who are currently dealing with:

  • Physical fatigue
  • Emotional and mental stress as they worry about their health.
  • Social isolation and stigma

Despite these challenges, these healthcare professionals soldier on courageously to Nurse the World during this COVID-19 pandemic.
