KUTRRH team led by Ag. CEO Dr. Zeinab Gura joined the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Health Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Aden Duale NCI-K CEO, Dr. Elias Melly, and other diginitaries and stakeholders for the 2nd National Cancer Summit at the Edge Convention Centre, Nairobi. The 2025 Summit is being held under the theme:
“Uniting Our Voices and Taking Action,”




The 3-day summit brings together key stakeholders to advance Kenya’s fight against cancer in line with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
On the first day of the 3-day summit, the country marked a positive step in improving oncology care with the official launch of the first National Radiotherapy Protocols. The protocols serve to harmonize cancer treatment across the country while addressing gaps in access to quality of care across regions.
Besides official launch of the national protocols, KUTRRH specialists led deliberations in various sub-themes including precision imaging for precision oncology.
The opening session was also graced by Dr. Timothy Olweny, Board Chair, National Cancer Institute of Kenya, H.E. Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o Governor, Kisumu County, Principal Secretaries Dr. Ouma Oluga (Medical Services), Mohamed Liban (Petroleum), Dr. Salome Muhia-Beacco (Correctional Services) and Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak (Science, Research and Innovation) among others.
